New York Jazz FestivalsHear some great music at these New York Jazz Festivals One of the most popular music festivals is the
Saratoga Jazz Festival
event which has been around for years. These concerts have been held at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) at the end of each June. This is a wonderful way to spend a family summer New York vacation weekend in upstate New York.
North of Saratoga you can hear some fine music at the Lake George Jazz Festival which is held right next to beautiful Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains in September. In the Lake George resort area stay at one of the Lake George lodging accommodations including New York b & bs, Lake George Resorts and hotels. They have some fine Lake George Museums you can tour in the area. A few hours west of Lake George is Rochester, NY where there are some fine festivals and events including the Rochester International Jazz Festival which is held each June. Some people think he only does soft Jazz but he can play some great straight ahead improvisational Jazz when he wants to. If you have some extra time you may want to check out one of the Syracuse New York museums in the area. They have had some great Jazz musicians who have played at one or more of these festivals in the past including George Benson, Chris Botti, Chick Corea, Winton Marsalis, Sergio Mendez, Norman Brown, James Brown, Woody Allen, The Rippingtons, Ray Charles plus many more.
