Native American Museums

Here are two Native American Museums you may want to spend some time in.

Six Nations Indian Museum The Six Nations Indian Museum provides for viewing 3000-plus artifacts with an emphasis on the Six Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy; story telling lectures; gift shop carries Mohawk baskets, beadwork, soapstone carving, wooden jewelry, and acrylic paintings reflecting Six Nations Iroquois culture.

This Adirondack museum (family owned-Mohawk of Akwesasne) is located in the Northeastern Adirondack Mountains (20 minutes north of Saranac Lake) and is open July-August, 10AM-5PM, Tues.-Sun. (closed Mon.), open by appointment to groups from mid-May through June 30, and September; admission; director: John Fadden; brochure available by sending a self-addressed business-size envelope.
