Vacation in beautiful Lake Placid, NY.

The Village of Lake Placid is in the heart of the High Peaks by beautiful Mirror Lake in the magnificent Adirondack Mountains of New York State. It's just hours from 2 major international cities: New York City and Montreal. It’s a wonderful place to spend your holiday vacation. The crystal lake and majestic mountains around it are amazingly beautiful.

One of the things this village is famous for was that it held the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic sports events where athletes from all over the world, competed. You can experience yearly world class sporting events like Ironman, which is held in July. Do you enjoy winter downhill skiing? Try some Alpine skiing at their world class Olympic facility.

One activity you can enjoy in the spring and summer is golfing. There are top-notch golf courses in the area where you can test your skills.
One of the local’s and visitor’s favorite activities is to enjoy a relaxing walk or bike ride around Mirror Lake while viewing the wonderful scenery of the High Peaks and other surrounding mountains. .

There are several museums and historic site attractions for you to tour in the area including the farm of John Brown, the famous abolitionist who Herman Melville called the “meteor”. Mr. Brown’s story is part of the history of the beginning of the American Civil War.

What types of restaurants do you enjoy? Mexican, Caribbean, Barbeque, Italian, steak and seafood, it's all here. If you are looking for a nice place to eat you can enjoy fine dining at one of these restaurants. How about shopping? There are a variety of fine shops in the village for you to check out.

Not sure whether you want to do something inside or out? Then check out the weather forecast before you go out to see if the forecast is more conducive for indoor or outdoor activities.

You can stay at one of the quality lodging accommodations in the area. Would you like to stay in one of the fine lodges ? Whiteface Lodge is a new one you may want to stay at. Or one of the Lake Placid Bed and Breakfasts where you will be treated to a delicious country breakfast.

Or perhaps relax at one of the beautiful Lake Placid resorts, motels and hotels. Two special examples are Lake Placid Lodge and Mirror Lake Inn.
