The turning point of the Revolutionary war was the battle of Saratoga
The battle of Saratoga which was actually two battles occurred in the Saratoga region in 1777 during the American Revolutionary War. The battle (s) was a very important turning point because it was a victory for the Patriots. Also, because of the victory over the British troops, the French recognized and joined us against the British. This helped us eventually win the war. You can learn more about early American history by walking the battlefields in the area. You can see where the fight occurred at what is currently the Saratoga National Historical Park. This historical park is divided into three different areas: The battlefield in the town of Stillwater, General Schuyler’s house and the Saratoga Monument.

He had General Burgoyne as a “guest” sometime after Burgoyne surrendered the part of the British army under his command.
